Michael and David | Umlauf Sculpture Garden Wedding

Getting to know people and how they met is seriously one of my favorite perks of the job. As a hopeless romantic, hearing how people were brave, and took a leap of faith makes my heart swells, that true love still exists, it’s not all in a Nicholas Sparks novel.

David and Michael had met online and went on a few dates. Things were going super well, then a month in, Michael got the call that he had to go work across the world in Asia. In most situations, especially a relationship in its infancy, you would enjoy your time together and hopefully reconnect when you return. These two decided to take the plunge and go for a long distance relationship, especially with a 14 hour time difference. I cannot imagine still getting to know someone, talking when one is waking up, and other is getting home from work, but being in a relationship is about being vulnerable, and that vulnerability and trust is such a solid foundation for a marriage.  A year later, Michael moved back and they moved in together.

Their wedding day was a laid back black tie event at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, complete with a caricature artist, on the spot poet and family-style dinner. I loved how they got ready together and walked down the aisle together <3.
