Rebecca and Adam’s colorful wedding at One Eleven East was one that came right out of a stylebook. Their palette of terracotta, sea blue, and rose complemented the minimalist aesthetic of the urban loft divinely. Where careful thought was given to the details, but even more so the experience for their guests, from color sheets for the children (and adults, naturally) and trays of cookies were available after dinner. From idea to realization, the aesthetic and connection of their day was an absolute pleasure to photograph.
When Rebecca and Adam first connected with me they were still searching for their venue, but knew they wanted their wedding photography to focus on the special moments. Words that warm my documentary-minded soul. I knew why this was important to them on the day. These two are surrounded by a crew of delightful beings – a wedding party who supported them steadfastly through the day, a father who enveloped his new son-in-law in his arms at the top of the aisle like his own, and guests who joined them on the dancefloor for a lively party.
After getting ready in the lofted spaces, they first met in the Skylight Room. Adam waited in front of the hanging fabric installment carefully arranged by Studio 11, with his back turned to the turn in anticipation. Their first look was a private moment, a laugh, an embrace, a tear (or two), of fawning over golden and coral florals arranged by a friend, and of musing that his tie matched the earthy-toned altar.
We then explored the variety of spaces at One Eleven East. The natural light of the old storefront windows, with paper airplanes, delicately strung from them. To the courtyard out back, with cocktail delights meticulously arranged for later.
I so loved their unique take on the space for their ceremony – how they entered through the industrial doors to a long aisle. How the skylight lit them so beautifully. How the ceremony was uniquely curated to them.
Then, they were married! With excited glances at a new ring, cheers with their wedding parties, and a romantic first dance after their guests were seated – the night was carried away. Thoughtful, heartfelt speeches, and sweet parent dances, and a particular groom being tossed into the air. The night finished with an exit of running through a personalized banner and the fading of their friends celebrations.
Congratulations you two.
